How do I make an appointment?
You can book online through our scheduling page or give us a call at (201) 857-5239. We're happy to help you find the perfect time.
Why can't I book certain appointments online?
Certain services — such as keratin treatments, extensions, double process color, and corrective work — are best booked after a thorough consultation. This ensures we understand your hair history and goals before committing to a plan. Give us a call or request a consultation and we'll take it from there.
Do I need a consultation before my first visit?
For standard cuts and single process color, you're welcome to book directly. For bigger changes — like going significantly lighter, extensions, or corrective color — we recommend a consultation first. It's quick, and it helps us make sure we're aligned on your vision before we get started.
How long should I expect my appointment to take?
It depends on the service. A cut typically takes 30–60 minutes. Color services vary significantly depending on the technique and your hair's starting point — some may take a couple of hours, while others may take longer. If you're unsure about timing for a color service, give us a call at (201) 857-5239 or email us at [email protected] and we'll give you a better idea of what to expect.
What is your cancellation policy?
We kindly ask for more than 24 hours' notice for any cancellations or changes. Cancellations made 12–24 hours before your appointment will result in a 50% charge. No-shows are charged 100% of the planned service.
What happens if I'm running late?
We understand — things happen. Please give us a call at (201) 857-5239 to let us know. An arrival more than 10 minutes past your scheduled time may result in a modified service or the need for another team member to assist. Please also keep in mind that finding street parking may require a few extra minutes.
Do you offer gender-neutral pricing?
Yes. Our pricing is based entirely on the service and the time it takes — not on gender. Everyone is welcome here, and everyone is priced fairly.
What products do you use?
We proudly work with Davines — luxury, sustainable haircare crafted in Parma, Italy. From color to treatments to styling, every product we use is chosen with intention. We also offer the full Davines retail line so you can continue the experience at home.
What makes craft + theory eco-friendly?
We're proud partners of Green Circle Salons, which means we recycle up to 95% of our salon waste — including hair clippings, foils, color tubes, and excess chemicals. Sustainability isn't a marketing line for us. It's built into how we operate every single day.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, cash, checks, and of course, craft + theory gift cards.
Is parking available?
Yes — free street parking is available directly in front of the salon on Sheridan Avenue, as well as on Warren, Orville Court, and Sycamore Avenue. It's usually easy to find, but if you're running tight on time, we recommend arriving a few minutes early just in case.
